Picture of the day

October 6, 2011

A few days ago I was at the Siuntio Hyvinvointikeskus (Wellness Centre) for training related to work. After day one, I popped out for a little jog in the bush on the trails around the premises. Imagine my surprise at this piece of bush art:

Someone put tremendous effort into sculpting this wild boar – made entirely of metal. The leaves stuck in give it a really cool look. 🙂

Finland is a country full of talented artists who work with so many different kinds of materials. The creator of this piece most certainly falls into the category of “talented”.

I recently discovered you blog, thank you for sharing!! It’s nice to read up on things in Finland, a place I wish so much to visit. It has a peacefulness to it, not like here in the states. I’ve been looking for some books to read about Finland, the culture, ways of living, cooking (I learned how to make Pulla!) ect. Could recommend any? Please & Thank you 🙂

Jen, check Google Books and use different search terms. You’d be surprised at how much information you come up with Google Books doesn’t offer the whole book in some cases, but you can read enough to get the information you are looking for – and of course it is free! I hope this helps – as this one avenue you can check.
