The longest bridges in Finland

January 12, 2011

It’s always good to run into some superlatives once in awhile. Thanks to the S-Group’s customer magazine (2011-1) for this short compilation of Finland’s longest bridges. You can find the information somewhere on the Finnish language pages of the Finnish Transport Agency (http://portal.liikennevirasto.fi/sivu/www/en/).

Your Finnish lesson for today: silta = bridge

Finland’s longest road bridge is Raippaluodon silta in Mustasaari and is 1045m long. The others are:

– Tähtiniemen silta in Heinola, 925m
– Kärkisten silta in Korpilahti, 788m
– Saimaan silta in Puumala, 781m
– Lapinlahden silta in Helsinki, 597m
